Catching Up

Yes, I know. It's been 6 weeks since I last posted. Probably more. We've been to San Antonio, then Dallas, Quitman, Athens, back to Dallas, and now in Fort Collins. I'm back in the saddle with a consistent internet connection that can withstand the LONG blogger picture download wait times. I'll start with our first weekend in the US... It was a wonderful weekend with the Bradford fam where we celebrated Kathryn's 6th birthday, Mother's Day, and the long-awaited meeting of our newest little cousin, Aubrey Layne.

Kathryn's 6th bday party was to be held at the famous Kitty Park, where I too celebrated many a birthday. But the day before they canceled on us! We scrambled to find an alternative solution worthy of such a monumental event, and in the end we rented this enormous water slide...



















Huge! I could not even hoist myself up with a kid on my hip.



















I think Kathryn enjoyed it, except for the moment she complained that it didn't feel like her birthday because everyone sliding down kept asking her to move out of the way...

At the bakery, I gave Kathryn the pick of the whole sample book. She looked past all the Disney princess cakes, Strawberry Shortcake, etc... and declared, "No, I want YOU to make it, mom!"
